Hello! My name is Luna and you’ve stumbled upon my blog, which is dedicated to my two lifelong obsessions: video games and the Japanese language.

One of my favorite things is seeing how game scripts change in the localization process, so I like doing comparisons of Japanese games (and other media) and their localized versions. Or plan to, at least.

I also dabble in translation of my own, but I’m by no means a good translator, haha. Neither English nor Japanese is my native language, and I wouldn’t consider myself quite fluent at Japanese yet, so there are bound to be mistakes in my translations. If you find any, please let me know!

Other than that, I write about the games I import from Japan or (hopefully) helpful tips related to learning Japanese/playing Japanese games if you don’t live in Japan.

Though appearances might be misleading, this is not just an otome-related blog, however, otome games are my guilty pleasure (；・∀・)

What does the blog’s name mean?

戦闘準備 (read: sentou junbi) literally means “battle preparations.” You’re bound to see these words at some point if you play any sort of RPGs in Japanese. In my case, I got the idea for the name when playing Fire Emblem.

What’s my Japanese level like/how long have I been learning?

I have been self-studying since around 2011. I also have three years of university classes under my belt, and when I took the JLPT in the summer of 2016 I managed to ace the N2-level test.

What games/series do I like?

I consider Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) to be my absolute favourite series, with Pokemon following closely. Other than that, Persona (3 and 4), the Tales series (Abyss is my fave!), Danganronpa, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Mother 3, The World Ends With You and many more.
